Jamie Buckland
Jamie Buckland is a homeschooling mom of four and the founder of West Virginia Parents for Education Choice, an advocacy group to inform parents of new opportunities made possible by the Hope Scholarship, which the West Virginia legislature approved in 2021. A longtime education choice champion, Buckland was named Parent Advocate of the Year for 2022 by the Cardinal Institute for West Virginia Policy. In addition to her advocacy work, she volunteers at Appalachian Classical Academy, a small nonprofit homeschooling co-op run entirely by volunteers that she helped found in 2016. Buckland currently serves as executive director and headmistress and provides weekly tutoring in five subjects.
