Go ahead. Make a wish. If you could change one thing to help make educational choice a reality for more parents, what would it be? We asked 10 different folks in the choice movement that question, and over the next two weeks – beginning tomorrow – we’ll publish their responses.
As in years past, we asked some folks with a national profile to share their wish, like parental choice advocate Virginia Walden Ford, who helped spur creation of the Opportunity Scholarships program in Washington D.C. Ms. Ford returns to our pages again this year, but we also passed the mic around our own little corner of the universe.
We’re glad we did. One of the most noteworthy things about the choice movement – and to some of us, one of the most gratifying – is how it’s embraced by folks from all walks of life and all points on the political spectrum. That’s certainly true of the motley crew here at Step Up For Students, including the talented individuals who chose – in some cases for the first time – to share their views on choice with a broader audience.
We hope you enjoy them. We hope you learn from them.
With 2018 winding down, a heads up: Beyond the wish list posts, there won’t be as much content as usual on the blog until the first full week of 2019. Hopefully, that means even more precious time with friends and family, for you and for us. ????
